Montague Homes
Refundable deposit not paid back yet

We applied for finance and paid a R25000-00 deposit through the normal channels for a bond of (100%) R1870000-00 for a new home in the Jackal Creek estate. After the paperwork was all handed in and the bond originator Multinet group got us a deal from FNB for a 100% Bond for an amount of R1600000-00. The shortfall was to be done cash if the deal needed to be finalised. We don't have that sort of cash and decided that we could not apply for the finance and said we will then part from this deal. Then the sales consultant came back to us after the normal channels were followed for finance, saying that Investec also offers home loans. This meant that we could apply again. But the amount of paperwork that we needed to hand in again, would mean that we have to wait again for a period of time for the bond to be approved. We are getting married in FEB-01-2014 and needed to know if we have a house or not. We have been battling from July 2013 until early November to get a property from these guys, but with no success following the shortfall loan amount. We have cancelled our purchase in writing and just requested our R20000-00 refundable deposit back as per contract we will forfeit R5000-00.
