I got an MTN cell phone contract for my son, he gets R100 airtime a month, this month he came running to me shocked that his airtime had disappeared and he had only recieved it that morning. I contacted MTN to find out that his money had been deducted by STS. I asked my son about the subscription, of which he said he knows nothing about it, he said he has recieved sms's to subscribe to STS and other "Service" companies, but has deleted them because he knows to stay far away from these online/sms that I have warned him about.

I think its disgusting that companies like STS are allowed to operate like this and bill peoples accounts without a confirmed subsription. How many other numbers belong to young kids of which these guys are their airtime and they are none the wiser.

The Consumer act needs to clamp down on companies like STS.

I want a refund!!!
