Fees applied even if E-tag is!!

Being a 'law' abiding person I got e-tags for my wife and myself when the last 'deadline' came around, only to find that it was delayed till Dec 3rd this week. My wife's car was and not recovered in the past few weeks and before the implementation of e-tolls and possible abuse by the I decided to de-register my wife's car from my E-toll account only to receive an email moments later informing I would be charged for 'losing' the e-tag. How much I asked when I called the call centre, just R150, which I would have known if I read the T&C's.
They even told me that the R50 I paid to activate my account was not the cost of the e-tag, like any of us will remember this from 2 years back.
I might have read the T&C's 2 years ago, but didn't realise 'lost' or damaged also included.
So to the rest of the law abiding people in JHB make sure you don't get your car, cause SANRAL will get their ppound of flesh!
