On 2013/01/29 I visited the Alberton post office situated on C/O ALWYN TALJAARD & DU PLESSIS ST upon entering I could smell thinners and paint. The post office was busy and there were about 50 clients I was nr 7 in the que there were only three tellers open. When I reached the tellers after about 15 min I could hardly breath as I am a Asthma sufferer I had to get my wife's chronic medication. Waiting for the Parcel I enquired about the smell and the teller informed me that they are busy renovating. I could see painters walking with masks. Renovations started in December already. I tried to contact Post Office Head office on 012 649 and spoke to Chris De wet who referred me to the branch Manager who is Mr Rampyapedi that I got of the Post office website on telephone nr 011 there was no answer I tried numerous times I phoned Alberto north postoffice on 011 a lady gave me two more numbers 8692137/8508 they just rang. I could not confront the branch Manager at the Post office as I had to get my Asthma pump. My Concern is what about the safety of the employees from 07:30 to 14:30 breathing in those fumes and even the customers one lady employee went off sick.
