How long does it take to get a wheelie bin??

Does it really take over 1 year to get a new wheely bin from Pikitup in Roodepoort!? After the wheel on the bin was broken by the staff who collect the bins, I thought it would be a quick and easy process to order a new bin and have it delivered. How wrong could I have been! Never did I anticipate that Pikitup's service would so diabolical! I understand that generally our municipal agencies don't really give a hoot about service but really!! Having spoken to a very helpful young man, Mashudu, at the general call centre, he politely told me that the bin was delivered on the 18th of May 2012, but with no details as to which address! Farida, who is one of only two people handling bin delivery on the west rand has clearly not been trained to plan properly in terms of her stock of bins or the delivery thereof! She then explained to me that in 2012, all requests and queries which were older than 6 months were cancelled off the system, so in fact the bin wasn't delivered the 'query was resolved' and cancelled off the system! What a! No bin = query still open! I now have to phone again and place another order and get another ref number! Aaaaarrggggh!!!
