My friend and I went for a hair cut at Carlton in Canal walk on Monday Night and had the worst service both of us have ever had at a salon. From the moment we walked in we were treated terribly. Both of our stylists were incredibly rude and seemed to be going out of their way to make us feel small. My stylist took 15 minutes to understand what I meant when I asked for my hair to be 'layered', while my friends' stylist just refused to do what she asked. When I was looking for some suggestions or advice on my chosen hair cut the stylist just smirked and called me indecisive. My friend has very thick curly hair and asked for her hair to be thinned and her stylist responded by saying 'Don't get ahead of yourself, your hair is not that thick! ' in a very condescending tone. She then refused to thin out her hair, even though she repeatedly asked her too. We are not hairdressers but we have lived with our hair and have had it cut successfully many times so know what we want! My friend also knows that you don't brush curly hair until it is dry, which her stylist did! Besides the apparent incompetence, the worst part of the experience was the absolute disdain with which we were treated.
