On 19/07/2013 we signed a service agreement with VHI. On that day we paid an amount of R39510.00 as a once-off payment. The sales person (Corrie) filled in a lot of details. When we asked him about the amounts he filled him as we paid cash for the membership, he replied it is "only for office purposes". When we asked him about whether there are any hidden costs and levies payable, he replied "no, this is all we have to pay ever". To our horror, VHI started deducting money from our bank account. I then stopped payment at our bank and phoned VHI on 26 September and asked to speak to Hannlie Jacobs. She was not available. I left a message for her to phone me. No call forthcoming. I phoned again on 27/09/2013 and she was once again in a meeting. I spoke to Elsabe. She could not help me. Of course, Corrie (the sales rep) is not available on his cell phone. What is this money for? Why did they insist we sign the contract that night after I repeatedly stated I want to think about it? Can I take this matter further?
