I was contacted by MVV (eskom) advising that my mother's eskom has been referred to their company due to the overdue balance of her account. I advisd that my mother has been declared unfit to work such that she was put of work. She has been declared as mentally disabled as a result the ONLY income she has is a disability grant. I asked MVV if there can make an exception for such citizens. How is she expected to make the paymet taking into account that her income only takes care of her primary living expesnes. I asked MVV/eskom to take the above into account and come back to me. I have been waiting for a call from them since then. Esom has threatened to cut-off the electricity line if she doesnt pay/make an arrangement. I asked if they can move her account to a pre-paid billing type instead of contract such that she can effectively manage her electricity usage. I am deeply disappointed at the service delivery.
