Settlement balance too high

Good day,

A few months ago I finally decided to take up the Laptop offer which Fonechoice Consultants had been calling me about for months. I received my Laptop and have no problems with the device. It works fine. I did however inform the Consultant that the /-R6400 price was too high and would therefore have to settle the debt within a 3-4 month period to avoid high interest. She assured me that would be fine and I wouldn't be charged much over the price they are offering for the Laptop. It's now been 4 months since entering the contract, 3 installments have gone through. I contacted Fonechoice for my settlement balance and I received a letter stating a settlement balance of R8610. This means that my balance had gone up by R3320 in 3 months (including installments paid) This is not how Financial Institutions work and certainly makes no sense in the rules of early Settlements of debts. Fonechoice is creating an environment where having long term debt is more beneficial. I am very disappointed and will never enter into an agreement with Fonechoice again. I will be settling my debt by month end as per the letter.
