Every day at 6pm until 9:30pm the geyser control unit installed in my home with is controlled by our local municipality (Emfuleni) is switched off to save Eskom electricity because the so-called demand for electricity calls fro this to be done.
At - 6pm every day my kids take a bath, at - 7:30pm every day we do the dishes. When do Eskom or Emfuleni think my geyser will have the time to warm the now COLD water for me and my wife to take a shower before we retire to bed???
Every day we are faced with all these power alert ads on TV asking us to switch off our appliances we don't use pool pumps, geyser and so on. My question now is why should I do any of this?? I pay my electricity bill every month; I don't have any illegal connections, Why should I be inconvenienced so that someone who clearly doesn't care can switch on his/her heater or stove, so I must save electricity so that those who don't care and don't pay can be ADVANTAGED.
This clearly sounds like a plan to have every household sit with No hot water and to increase the load on the system later to have all these cold water heated up so Municipalities and Eskom can make more MONEY.
