Please take note, and warn all and sundry, to stay away from the following company, "Binocular Repairs and Service Alignment" based in Pretoria, advertising the repair of Binoculars on the Webb.
Mr. Andrew Tennant, who I assume, is the owner of this company, was sent a pair of quality Binoculars, Swarovski EL through my local gun shop, Wildman in Upington
The repair entailed repairing one of the pull out eyepiece, which had twisted. Mr. Tennant gave a quote for the repair for R740 odd, which was accepted. However he requested payment before he would commence the repair. The money was then transferred to his account.
After numerous enquiries via Email by Mr. Van Der Merwe (Tiny) of Wildman, as to the progress of repair, the Binoculars finally arrived.
Tiny and I could not believe our eyes as to the condition of my binoculars. I genuinely thought that Tiny was playing a joke.
Mr. Tennant had sent the binoculars back, without repairing the eyepiece correctly, and to add insult to injury had lost the emblem. On stripping the outer covering, they had totally botched the attempt to reline the coating when assembling.
