Unhappy Bride -passing off 2nd hand dresses as new

I requested a new wedding dress from The Bridal Place. Marius Kruger notified me it will take 3 months to make the new dress. After paying the 50% deposit to confirm the order, I was notified 17 days later that the dress was finished.
On arrival the dress was not complete, the alterations requested was not done and it was visible that he altered an existing dress. The dress showed damage from previous stitching removed. We gave him a chance to make a new dress and to give us the benefit of the doubt that he made a new dress by showing us the old and new dress. He agreed with the arrangement. At the agreed time he failed to do so and was full of excuses. He then agreed to pay the deposit back. After a week I contacted him and he refused to pay it back, saying I must speak to his lawyer and putting the phone down. After consulting with a lawyer I was advised to claim the deposit back through the small claims court.
Choosing a wedding dress is special for every bride. He made the event sour and I regret choosing The Bridal Place as the preferred supplier for my special day.
