I recieved a SMS on 19 March from VVM Debt Collectors saying that I have been handed over to them by the SABC for not paying my TV licence. I phoned the number 0877401213 supplied to make arrangements for payment and spoke to Camel Leo. She informen me that my licence have not been paid since 2010 and that I now must pay R 1300.I agreed to pay on 2 April 2013, but last night I gave it another thouhgt. I can not understand why they could not get the money 3 years in a row as they have a debit order on by credit card and it is unlikely that there were no funds all 3 years. Also, I had no notification about the situation although my adress and tel.no. as well as cell no. never changed the last 10 years. I feel it is fair to pay the R750 licence fee which was not deducted but not the other R550 interest as I feel it was not my fault. If I was informed about the situation in 2010, this would not be the case as is now. The culprit is not VVM but the SABC.
