VVM had been harassing me for payment of a TV licence for a TV that I disposed of 20 years ago. I had informed SABC at the time. After sending VVM an affidavit to this effect in 2010, I didn't hear a word until about six months ago. I am now being harassed by Munnik Basson Da Gama Associates who have taken over where VVM left off. I don't know what more to do to get these off my back as it is embarrassing to receive calls at work and endure the constant harassment from these people in the form of emails that are sent every week.
I bought a new TV licence in 2011 from the post office and once SABC had my details, the harassment began. I now have two accounts with SABC and don't understand how this could happen. MBD have now consolidated the arrears of the past 20 years and have sent me one big account in the amount of R4, 695.80 for arrears which is incurring penalties every month. I have not responded to their requests to pay R152 off the account as I know they are just trying to get me to admit default. I have also told them that I refuse to pay this amount for a TV that I haven't owned for 20 years.
