I wrote this as a comment under one of the complaints. I have discovered that I have a judgment against me for R34, 519 obtained in South Africa by GL, for a credit card debt that i was disputing incurred in 2005. First Card has not reached me at any point in time after I laid a complaint that my payments made were not reflecting on statements. I therefore threatened to stop making payments if they continue to send statements that did not reflect my payments. My last payment that I made before I was deployed in Uganda was in July 2008 after FNB had not come back to me for 2 years. 3 months ago I discovered that I had a judgment against me for 3 times the amount that I owed and had been disputing. Whatever happened to serving the individual concerned. I obtained my credit card in Swaziland but now I am being sued in a SA court that I have no access to nor right to defend. Whatever happened to law of prescription. I am mad!! My reputation has been damaged for a meagre R34k which is not even the amount I owed in the first place. FNB must also take full responsibility here!!
