I received an email from Groenewald Lubbe Inc claiming I owe R19, 775.00 for a FNB Credit Card.
The Credit Card was settled with FNB in January 2007 and I still have the proof of settlement letter.
It seems to me that Groenewald Lubbe Inc are hoping I have either lost my proof of payment or I do not know about the law of prescription.
For everyone out there.
If you haven't paid a debt for more than 36 months, not acknowledged the debt and no action has been taken, the debt is prescribed.
Don't be fooled by these companies, you are protected. Look up prescription of debt.
Secondly: keep you proofs of debts you have settled legally FOREVER.
