I was unfortunately handed over to lawyers (Maritz, Schreurs & Du Preez Inc), by Nedbank. For 24 months i have been paying R852.65, via garnishee order, until it was paid up (according to my payslips). I then phoned these lawyers, requesting for a "paid up letter", only to speak to the RUDEST consultant, by the name of Talita du Plessis. I had spoken to this woman also in July, requesting for a settlement amount. She sent me the most complicated document (well to me it was), and I asked her to just simplify it for me. She said, she cannot do that, whatever is written there, is what i need to pay. In any case, i didnt worry too much, as my payslips showed me the balance, so i decided not to go the settlement amount route. According to my paylip, the last payment was in October, amt R79.18. Payslip shows "no balance". Now this rude woman says i still need to pay more as the account is not fully paid, Nedbank had entered the wrong amount on their system. when i tried to explain that is not my fault, she said it`s not their fault either, and they will still do the garnishee order!!! As far as I know this account is paid up (according to what I signed for) and i have proof.
