I had a loan with Direct Axis in 2009 and 2010 and were paying each and every month. I got retrenched in January 2010 and direct axis informed me that in my monthly instalment was a premium for insurance should something happen (like retrenchment). After filling in some documents they confirmed that my balance (Approx R8000) will be paid up by them and it is taken care of.
In 2012 I received letters from MBD Attorneys saying that Wesbank (initial loaner) has handed my account over form R13000 and I need to make payment. After some disputing I told them exactly about the insurance and they first said that the account was overdue when I got retrenched, which wasn't the case. I asked for a statement which I received eventually and it clearly showed that the account was up to date until I got retrenched.
I then asked for my initial agreement which I have asked for over 20 times and still not received it. Every time I get emails and sms's stating to pay and also they responded saying they will follow up regarding my agreement.
In the mean time interest and legal fees are being charged.
Their service is blatant ridiculously poor.
