In feb this year i took out a medical aid for my husband, child and myself with Keyhealth, i was given very good service from the consultant regarding the scheme that i would be taking out from 1st march 2013. I sent the consultant an email to find out if there was a waiting period, to which he responded "no there is no waiting period". my family and i went for a check up in march (using the medical aid). at the end of march my account was debited twice, when i called them all they tell me is that the installment was suppose to have been paid up in advance - no where in my consultation did he bother to tell me this.
the service i got after that was beyond ridiculous as they tell me i used the med aid and there is nothing i can do, to which i respond that if i had known that i needed to pay upfront i would have a) paid it upfront beginning of march or b) i would have paid cash at the doctor instead of using the med aid.
i am now being forced to pay the installment because the consultant didnt do his job properly and advise me upfront when i took the medical aid out. MY SHEME IS SUSPENDED IN THE MEAN TIME.
