Dr Cornelius J Thiart
Malpractice

03 October 2012, I was diagnosed with an incomplete tear of the distal supraspinatus tendon that needed an operation. 31 October 2012, Operation done by Dr B Thiart and the procedure: Disorder of the muscles and tendons around the shoulder joint (impingement syndrome) & Disorder of the muscles and tendons around the shoulder joint (rotator cuff syndrome). Treatment requested was: Arthroscopy of the shoulder; Repair or removal of part of the shoulder blade (acromioplasty) and Removal of part of the collar bone (claviculectomy). I have been going for the psychiotherapist treatments as requested. I have been experiencing severe pain all the time and requested for perscription for painkillers as I thought this was part of the healing process.
The pain got to such a stage where it became unbearable and I decided to go for a 2nd opinion. 04 April 2013: I went to see Dr RW Swanepoel at Unitas Hospital and did another sonar. Shocking results: an incomplete tear of the distal supraspinatus and low-grade impingement visible. I am scheduled for a 2nd operation with Dr Swanepoel on 19 April 2013. same procedure as above and more.
