No refund for Ekhuruleni 5150 for shoulder injury

This is the letter I wrote to Sharon Talbot from Ironman SA:

Dear Sharon

I have a partially torn ligament in my shoulder, and have to go for an operation so very sadly for me, I will no longer be able to participate in the triathlon. Please find my form attached.

My Doctor is Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr Kastanos from Linksfield Hospital. I can get a letter from him if you require it.

Am I able to get a full refund? If not, then can I try and get someone from Dare to Tri to transfer the entry? That is the group I train with here in Johannesburg run by Derick Marcisz.

Hi Nicole

I am sorry that you are unable to take part. Unfortunately you have missed the cut off date for refunds.

Entries are not transferable from one athlete to another.

I think that is a unfair and I find your response unacceptable and cold.

I am going for an operation which is out of my control. I did not plan or anticipate this.

I know that your events usually have a 100% participation...
