My in laws and I had organised a trip to visit my family in Johannesburg over the Christmas period. My mother in law had travelled all the way from Lithuania for this. I booked accommodation - 3 bedrooms at Zoo Lodge, Parktown. All of the information provided on the internet, by phone and email by the this organisation, including the pictures was satisfactory. One of the requirement for the booking was that the full amount be paid two weeks in advance of us arriving- and so we fulfilled this.
On arrival, on the 18th December 2012 just before midday- following a 14hour flight- the premises had no electricity supply. None of the bedrooms were ready. One of the beds in the rooms was soiled with what appeared to be urine. There were a few drunk men in the house, the manager himself, Derek was intoxicated and kept rushing around nervously. The house was completely inhabitable. We didnt stay there and they have since refused to refund us, instead the owner told me to tell my mother to come and clean if i feel that the accomodation is dirty!
