This morning I met 2 friends for breakfast at a restaurant in Rooi Els. I was early and ordered a coffee, which was cold and unpleasant. When my friends arrived, we ordered cappuccinos but the waitress (owner) returned to say the machine is not working properly and she cannot do the foam. I asked about cream, but they did not have any. We agreed to take it as it comes, since the standard filter coffee was not nice. When she brought the cappuccino's, she was very defensive and said the filter coffee was made fresh when she came downstairs that morning. I started to explain that coffee standing on a hot plate develops a bad taste but she rudely interrupted me with "well, that's how it works in a restaurant, madam! " and with that plonked my friend's cup down with such force that the coffee spilt into the saucer and over my friends hand, burning her. Later I ordered a toasted cheese & tomato with a little bit of onion and the resulting sandwich had 1cm thick slices of onion on! My friend's "well done" egg was also runny. I ordered a white Grapetiser and received a red one! We decided we will rather meet in Pringle Bay in future since this lady is not interested in service!
