Late Delivery of Chronic Medication

Optipharm, Spectramed's designated service provider for chronic medication deliver late most of the time. In some instances if you do not phone you won't get your medication. If you get medication from any other pharmacy you get brutally penalised. If you try and phone Optipharm, you are put on hold for at least 10 minutes & if you get through, your call gets cut off. When you complain to the Spectramed call centre they don't come back to you. If you escalate your complaint to a supervisor, in this case Rushdi Adams (with a bad attitude), refused to take ownership of the problem & you get fobbed off & get referred back to Optipharm. In addition, I believe that Spectramed's policies & practices are specifically designed to frustrate members to force them to go to a non-designated pharmacy for meds that incur heavy penalties, to the benefit of Spectramed. I went through 5 months of with my late wife that had lung cancer, spending half of most days to get her chronic oncology medication authorised & supplied let alone on time. I could not get her Hospice morphine script authorised from Spectramed, the day before she died because of Spectramed's rules and regulations. Be warned!
