Warning - Always have a Rental Agreement

If you are considering staying at Little Walloon and are asked for a deposit please ensure you sign a rental agreement. I am writing this because I lost my deposit and no amount of reasoning with the owner made any difference.

The owner of Little Walloon, Bev Gage appears to be congenial at the outset but our experience was someone unreasonable, controlling, and self motivated. Outside appearances are deceiving which we discovered during our stay. In retrospect to compound our disappointment at the outcome of our tenancy the following issued were not addressed.

Daily plumbing problems (hot water actually flushed our toilet at one stage!). Every night smoke from the owners fire place required all doors and windows to be closed. Our DSTV did not work for several weeks. The advertised uncapped internet ran out constantly by the 3rd week of each month. Our unit was plagued with rising damp.

On vacating Little Walloon our deposit was withheld for totally unjustifiable reasons. We were blamed for removing linen, excess internet usage, damaging property, etc. The owner had the audacity to deduct multiple daily rates for our daughter who spent a few nights as our guest. Be warned.
