I had a consult with my Doctor in August/September of 2011 (yes, thats right 2011)!!!
Every consult I had, I requested the receptionist advise me if ever medical aid ran out of funds so I could ensure account up to date.
She received notice from medical aid that funds ran out and didnt accept the claim - NOT ONCE did I get a phone call/text or email to advise me of account being in arrears.
Her (Mary) response was that she sent me accounts via POST! We know how great the postal delivery service is (I do not receive my post in my area - Douglasdale). ALL accounts nowadays are followed up by a phone call. NOW I'm advised that my account has been handed over and I NEVER received any notification that my account was in arrears. Now I am going to be blacklisted due to BAD accounting/customer service. Its disgusting.
