I applied to join bonitas effective 01/02/2013. sent through the forms and so forth. shortly after, received a call from one of the consultants from bonitas, whom i didnt take their name down because i didnt think there will be something sinister about bonitas so i didnt feel i had to be on "guard". the consultant asked for employer details and employee number and asked me to fax through my payslip and birth certificate. she then told me they would contact my HR, and finalise the application. on the 1 february 2013 when the scheme was to commence i received an sms welcoming me to bonitas medical scheme. today i called spoke to Mihloti Mtshombeni, who told me my account was suspended, because no payment was received for two months. i inquired how that happened she informed me i had not provided banking details, i informed her i restructure my salary and one of their agents had undertaken the process. so i opted to cancel i was told i cant unless i pay the arrears amount which i never accessed. im held at ransom by bonitas. am told since i dont have the name of who called, tough cause there is no record. there was no comm notifying me of unpaid premiums for two months!!
