SOUTH RAND HOSPITAL
Near Death Experience

My heart is torn into pieces by thinking of the killers you call nurses at South Rand Hospital, I went to there on the 14th of August 2018 at about 9pm, I was already in labour, as I had contractions days before but I was advised not to go there too early I would be ignored, Now my contraction were not stopping and by the time I got to South rand I could hardly walk. I found nurses sitting in the duty room chatting, some on their phones, I told them how I was feeling, and one nurse told me that there were two people before me I must go sit on the bench and wait, I sat there for hours and hours and the two ladies before me were long gone but no one came to check on me, By 12midnight I was now laying on the floor calling for help, on a cold winter day but my efforts were in vain, as nurses just ignored me, it was only around 1:30am that a nurse called me to come so they could check on me, It took me a good ten minutes just trying to get up from the tiled cold floor, and I went inside a room where she told me that she will check me and only take me to a labour ward when its time for me to give birth, to my surprised as I had already started feeling the baby pushing out, she then checked on me and told me to go back to the bench as I was only 7cm and needed to be 10cm to be ready to give birth, she left me on that bed thinking I was dressing up to go wait in the bench, but I had already decided this is it, I will not give birth to my baby on the floor, It only took me a few pushes and my baby was out without anyone's help, the nurse only came and started insulting me because I didn't go sit on the bench as she had instructed me to, I only went to the labour ward to get stitched and the nurses were having a field day with me, insulting me on how I should have stayed home and gave birth there, and they were treating me about one nurse that will not take my nonsense and give me the most painful stitches, I would die at home than ever going to South Rand for anything, What pains me about this ordeal is that I Sibulele Maliti am a South African Citizen, this country has the freedom it has today because of our forefathers blood and sweat, I do pray that one day action will be taken against the murderers we call nurses at that hospital.
