My 13 month old baby boy was admitted to Medi-Clinic Bloemfontein on Friday morning, 8/8/13, with gastro & diaria. Friday evening we, nurses & us, agreed that there must be something wrong with the glucose drip that they are giving him, since the bag didn't want to run empty. The nurses decided that they are going to poke him on his food with the needle.
Their first try was unsuccessful, once the needle was in his foot, to get the drip flowing again. The nurses left my son, with the needle still in his foot, ran off & then left for home at 18:00. At 18:30 I saw another new nurse & called her to enquire where the nurses are, after which she told me that 2 emergencies came in & that the nurses went home.
Soon after speaking to the last nurse, 2 new nurses came & finished the job. in total my son had to lay in his hospital bed for an hour before they finished what they started.
I'm truly disappointed in the nurses.
