Ive been with Resomed since 2009. In 2011 I had my galbladder removed. In 2013 I discovered that I now have a hernia in the same area that causes abdominal pain and discomfort daily but they refused to give me an authorization code because my BMI is just over 40. I am very unhappy about this as they never send me any documents stating new protocols and changes to contributions etc. The only things I have received is mails for Agility and Zurreal. I am sick and tired of this. Would they rather let u get seriously ill instead of letting u have the op? I even offered paying in due to my BMI, but I cant afford R20 000 for a one night stay in hospital and theatre costs. They also dont cover my medication or my Autistic sons medication due to the fact that its not seen as a chronic condition. Im seeing my broker tomorrow, hoping to get this resolved or to find a different medical scheme.
