Member nr 3393080, I am on the highest medical plan Transmed offers and pay R5000-00 pm for my wife and I. On Sunday morning (12/01/14) I went for a walk and my ankle gave way causing me to fall heavily. As I thought it was only a sprain, I waited a week before seeing a dr (orthopedic surgeon) and it was established that I had torn ligements in my ankle. The dr supplied with a letter stating that the ligament needs to be repaired by means of an operation. Authorization for the operation was requested and declined. A further request for a review was also declined without it being referred back to the medical advisor. I was advised that I do not have cover for this type of injury. REMEMBER THIS IS THE TOP PLAN OF TRANSMED. WHAT AM I TO DO NOW SEEING THAT NOBODY AT TRANSMED HAS COME BACK TO ME AFTER FURTHER CORRESPONDENCE!!!
