Today 3 January 2014 around 15H45 I went to Life Anncron Hospital in Klerksdorp to pay an account at PathCare
On walking into Pathcare's offices the smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming.
Antia (Admin Manager) from Anncron duly came to assist and went back with me to PatchCare to confirm the cigarette smoke smell.
On entering PatchCare Anita confirmed that the smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming. Anita asked who was on duty and a Sister Sharon/Susan? came to see us who was not prepared to do anything about the smoking in the offices. I then asked who her manager was and a Johan Fourie came to see us. Johan could not smell the smoke as he had been sitting in the affected area. Johan said there is an internal smoking room on the first floor and said maybe the extractor fan was not working
Johan, Anita and myself then proceeded to the smoking room and found the extractor fan to be operational but the smell was a stale smell and not the fresh smell downstairs. Johan said he would see if he could find out who was smoking but I got the feeling it was just to get me out of the offices
I feel this matter needs to be addressed as a matter of importance
