7 of us checked into 3 rooms on a bed and breakfast basis for a family Christmas. Breakfast is served at a local restaurant around the corner. We were informed that the rooms would not be serviced on Christmas Day. But the same price applied. We could live with that. Then we were told that the Restuarant was closed on Christmas day and we had a pathetic packed breakfast in our room. The 26th of December comes around and we have to go and ask for our breakfast vouchers. It turns out that the restaurant is closed on the 26th as well. The b&b proprietor offers our party of 7 a R300 contribution towards breakfast at another establishment. This in now way covers the breakfast.
Her attitude was one of ignoring the needs of her clients and arguing that she was going to lose money if she upped the contribution.
In addition to this the rooms are not well kept, smelly and in reallity this is a glorified backpackers.
How expensive is it to lose 7 clients from 3 families who are all now talking about their bad experience.
Profit over service.
