I'm currently on Topmed (network) and on Saturday the 14th December i had to rush my 6 month old infant to the hospital due to her fingers got stuck in the fan, she was bleeding excessively... got to melomed and just to find out that they do not accept my medical aid and told me i must pay R590 of which i did not have on me .i had such a horrible experience with an infant crying and screaming of pain .they let me wait for 15 mins whilst my baby was bleeding and crying just so i can fill out paper work and check if they can help me! with my understanding due to legislation a private hospital is not suppose to chase u away i felt like a dog, i stay in Strandfontein and the nearest hospital for me was melomed town centre... after they said they cannot help me, i had to drive all the way to n1 city hospital to seek medical attention, . i feel disgusted in this melomed hospital i urge anyone that goes there to take careful consideration .they will first let your child die before they can help u... why couldn't they bill me after wards of my medical aid did not cover it? why is it that melomed is so inconsiderate? what if my baby had to die or loose alot of blood? im disgusted!
