Netcare
Ad facilities and intoxicated nurses

I was admitted to Sunninghill hospital from 16 to19 October in the Daisy Ward.

Firstly when I got to the ward, I found that my pillow was not a proper pillow, but a duvet inner folded and stuffed into the pillow case and passed off as a pillow. Disgusting! What exactly are you using the expensive money we oay for in private healthcare?

On Friday 18th, a new nightshift team came in. One of the nurses proceeded to attack my characterand accuse me of an unsavoury lifestyle and was rude and shouting at me in our first encounter of each other. Her behaviour was highly inappropriate for a professional.

Then the same nurse came to take my blood pressure at 6am the following morning and her breath was reeking of alcohol. Thereafter she even proceeded to ask me for sweets! This left a very (ironic) bitter taste in my mouth for a healthcare professional to be intoxicated while caring for our lives and the potential repercussions of intoxication while nursing people are frightening!

I reported the matter to the acting hospital manager on duty on 19 October and have heard nothing from the hospital since. Will it take a tragedy before such irresponsinle behaviour is addressed?
