I was informed by two Discovery Reps that if I had a Life Policy, a Discovery Credit Card and a Discovery Medical Aid, maintained at least Gold with Vitality, based on my wise usage of my MSA (the less you use, the higher your payout), my monthly expenditure on my credit card, my monthly life premium, a sum is calculated after five years and paid back to me. A fam member (the first time in two years) was admitted to hospital. Being on the executive plan, supposedly the top plan, I felt reassured that everything in hospital was covered, only to discover that ONLY the hospitals daily fees were covered and that ALL other expenses ie. the specialist fees, the laboratory fees and the CT scan fees were deducted from my MSA (my monies) NOT from In hospital cover from Discovery. My MSA is reduced to very little which now REDUCES my five year pay back. Why should these fees be deducted from my MSA - is this a so you only have to pay me out less after five years? To my knowledge I have never signed any policy document stating this would come off my MSA and thus reduce my payback? So Discovery wins all ways and I am being ripped off monthly, inhospital and in five years time?
