I am writing this on behalf of a friend of mine as we have no where else to turn.. She needs help desperately.
The short version of the story goes along these lines: She is on the very top cover that Fedsure offers. A year and a half ago she got lung cancer - She started treatment with1 chemo it wasn't working properly so they put her on a very expensive chemo as well which started to work. It cleared a speck on her liver. Now she has to have her next lot of chemo and the medical aid refuses to pay for the chemo that works for her - they will only give her the cheaper version. Since she has not had the correct chemo 3 new spots have appreared and she is deteriorating - the Drs had only given her 6 months she has now been 2 months with out the chemo and deteriorated. So basically she wont be around when Fedsure will pay for her next round of Chemo in January 2014.
She in the mean time has to find R200 00.00. Single, unemployed terminal mother of 3 children still at school dies because Fedsure will not pay for her Chronic Chemo (believe me she is not having it for the fun of it or because she is abusing her Medical Aid)
Where are the MORAL ETHICS???
