I attended a colleague's wedding in the area on Friday 4th October and as we live in Johannesburg we booked accommodation for Friday night. I arrived on Friday afternoon and was shown to my room. As I entered the building I was hit in the face by the MOST DISGUSTING smell. As it was only 45 minutes before the wedding there was no time to change my arrangements so I decided to return after the wedding. When I returned and went to the bathroom, (not en-suite) I found there was no key in the bathroom door. I did my ablutions and then returned to the room only to find that the bed had no sheets, it had been made up with a mattress protector and a duvet cover. The smell in the place was so disgusting that I had to use half a bottle of perfume to try to sweeten the smell before I could fall asleep. My clothes retained the disgusting smell until they had been laundered. I do not know how the owners/managers can call this establishment a 'Country Estate' . Its a JOKE and not even worth R25.00 per night let alone the R325.00 that was paid well in advance.
