On 6th April '13 we checked into the lodge and went to the wine tasting, we later found that our hotel room had been cleared out, to the value or R33k, including my car keys and the room next door. Management kept asking us if we had left our doors unlocked? The police came and management assured us that they would claim from their insurance and get a lock smith to change the locks on my car and even book us into another hotel. We packed our things into a black bag & as we drove away, (my company brought me another car), i heard all the staff laugh. We had a lack of communication from the hotel and the management company - Mantis Group and after waiting for 6 weeks we claimed from our own insurance, we found out the lodge actually only had only R50k cover and paid the other couple as their insurers would not pay them, we received R2k for part of the difference of my car locks etc. They now expect me to contact their insurers to tell them to pay my insurers back the 33k. We found out the lodge had NO security at all! To top it all we drove home on the N2 that night, went past two accidents and a dead pedestrian, my child is still traumatised, they even her build a bears.
