Upon applying for position as photographer for Carnival Cruises via Melonie (their recruiting agent), one of the requirements is a R2, 800 "application fee" payable to Palatino Recruiting. She was very adamant that this needed to be paid asap, and payment was made on 02-07-2013.
My application would be sent to Miami on 05-07-2013.
I made enquiries after this date and she only responded on 25 July that there are "new policies that need to be ironed out" and she would get back to me. I phoned her after this and she was too busy to speak. She did not call back. I have sent numerous emails and on 27 August she sent me this:
Unfortunately - there is a shift of policies and procedures worldwide in the cruise industry and nothing much is being confirmed yet.
Please send me your bank details and I will refund the admin fee.
Once again, apologies for your dissatisfaction and I wish you well in all your future en devours.
After this email she has made promises to refund the fee on four different occasions, and even claimed that payment has been made, although no monies reflect in my account.
I advise anyone that wishes to work on ships or Carnival to avoid Palatino Recruiting!!!
