Our 4 month old child was admitted into Hospital after continuous vomiting of blood. After Paying thousands towards determining cause (not covered by discovery) she was referred to a paed surgeon and admitted to Life hospital. We stayed there from 26th July 2013 - 31 July 2013. we still did not know what was wrong until the last day in morning. While we were in hospital she had blood tests taken (I think it was 27th July). Our paed visited us in hospital on 31st (roughly 9:20am) and give us the go ahead to be discharged.
Issues:
We had a pre auth and it seems that this was from 26th to 30th.
Discovery refuse to pay for paed visit on 31st (this apparently is not hospital cover due to date).
Discovery refuses to pay for part of pathology tests (dated 27th) because they see duplicate code (4514) and assume that all procedures have a unique code and will not cover duplicate codes from a single provider on the same day. On chatting to pathology, they said that the blood tests for (all seperate units) for testing for milk intolerance, soy intolerance and lactos intolerance all use the same code.
Discovery refuses to provide solution to cover these legitamate costs
