My mother was admitted to Linmed hospital in Benoni for blood transfusion since she has cancer and receives blood prior to every chemo therapy session to increase her blood count. After it was told to us that she was to come immediately, she lay there for a day and a half waiting for blood to arrive!!!
After all this, the main complaint that I feel should be addressed is the extremely low level of hygiene practice by the sisters working there. Sisters do not wash their hands after tending to sick patients which lead to my mother contracting a very serious virus in the time of which she was there and which we thought was pneumonia. A patient in her weak state cannot take this sort of knock since the immune system is already weakened and could be life threatening! This could've been very serious and I would've most certainly pressed charges.
To another extend, all of the household is now infected and this virus is becoming costly to get under
control just because one person didn't follow correct practice!
Looking forward to your feedback
