Was really desperate for accommodation in Durban. Contacted this hotel via their website, but after a while decided to speak to them directly. After giving her my dates she immediately told me no rooms for December until 2 Jan next year. Told her that an online accommodation site shows availability, to which she replied I should book via that site then. Which I did. Later I receive e- mail directly from hotel, saying they have room available at half the price I paid via accommodation site! What maddens me is that I spent thousands of rands extra, when this hotel had in fact room available via their own reservations department! If this clerk had done her job properly and had checked properly, I would have had decent accommodation and saved seven thousand rand! due to one persons' incompetence, I now have to pay double the price!
