I was shocked when my son was admitted to Ward 6 of Wilgeheuwel Hospital. On arrival he was told to put on a gown. The gowns that were made available to him, where tagless - so he could not tie it, and the other was still blood stained. The chairs were uncomfortable, the staff grumpy. A nurse had been moved from ICU and didn't even know where the beds were. Upon waking up from his procedure he was given 'slop' food which made him feel nauseous and it was cold - it had been lying on his table for 1.5 hours. It took 4 requests to have his drip removed. I feel that should I wanted to be in a government hospital I would be taken my son there and been grateful for the service and care, however in a private institution this in NOT the service that I expected.
