Last week my 8yr old was taken to the Hospital Outpatients for a Xray and a checkup as she had fallen at school and her arm was swollen. The Doctor on duty issued Xrays and after looking at Xrays informed us that she had broken her elbow and might need pins. My child was horrified and so we as parents. He referred us to an othorpedic surgeon that we can only see in 2 days. And he prescibed us to get Mybulen for her! for those two days we were so stressed and esp my child. When we saw the surgeon we were shocked to learn that her elbow was FRACTURED not broken and the mybulen was wrong meds for her as it will contradict the healing process! we were relieved to know that her elbow was broken but horrified to know that a doctor can cause us esp a child unnecessary stress and trauma. Also instead of healing he does more damage by not reading the Xray correctly and prescibing WRONG MEDICATION! How can I enter that hospital with a peace of mind, I will never trust anything the doctors say there again. I will never go to that ETHEKWINI Hospital as I might just be sent to remove my appendix when I actually have an ulcer! Why do we have to put up with incompetent doctors and hospitals.
