Spec-savers Sa
Spec-savers false advertising

SpecSavers are presently running a special on their frames (it was due to end today, but has been extended to the 17th August). If you book and pay for an eye test and your lenses, you are able to choose frames to the value of R2000, 00 (or up to code Silver, which is worth R1995, 00). Three weeks ago I made an appointment at the Liberty Midlands Mall branch, had my eyes tested and was going to choose a frame. Whilst looking at the frames on display I chose a 'branded' frame with a silver sticker on it. The assistant then told me that branded frames were excluded from the offer. Nowhere have I been able to find any reference to this exclusion. I have looked at the offer online (see link below), in-store and also via a Groupon voucher which could be bought for R1, offering the same deal. The silver-coded frames that were displayed separately are of a far inferior quality to the branded ones, yet they are the same price? I paid for my eye-test and they then refused to take my money for the lenses I require, as a frame has to be chosen and I was adamant that accoand I was adamant that according to the wording of the advertisement, I could choose any frame to the value of R2000, 00.
