Bad response time and no care attitude

I called Pine Lake on the 21st asking about a booking and any specials. The receptionist said there were no specials (I have a friend that booked for Feb with you and she says she booked a special) which is, I believe, a lie. She told me to fill in the detail request form which I did to book a 6 sleeper.

I emailed it thorugh early on the 21st and by mid afternoon heard nothing so called them and told the lady would follow up and call me. No call came. I called this morning again and was told somebody would get back to me. I then sent an email and a pleasant sounding lady named Bonita called me and promised to follow up.
Now I booked for 5 adults and 2 kids. I booked a 6 sleeper as my son must sleep in his cot and my daughter bunks with us. I assumed there is a spare bed so I invited my 15yr old cousin with last night.
Bonita tells me my 4yr old counts as an adult so we have to book a 8 sleeper which I find RIDICULOUS as there will be 2 open beds then? How is this right to charge me for beds I WILL NOT be using. No kids policy on booking form now i must uninvite a 15yr old? That isn't kind and Bonita didn't care at all.
A family resort? Shocking.
