I took my 4 year old son to Olivedale clinic casualty on Sun 23 June. He had flu symptoms as well as what looked like a spider bite next to his right eye which was swollen and infected. The doctor on duty - Willem Joubert- looked at him and said he has a bit of post nasal drip which is causing him to vomit and the spider bite didn't look bad - although it was clearly infected- and suggested a bit of antiseptic cream. He has no patience with kids & started getting annoyed with my son who did not want to sit still. On Mon it was worse & by Tues he had blisters around his right eye & it was red and swollen. We took him back and a lady doctor who was extremely impatient & rude prescribed Chloramex eye cream, although we suggested an anti biotic.By Wed his eye was almost swollen shut & on Thurs it is full of blisters, blood red and very swollen &his eye ball is blood shot. We went back for the third time&got to see Willem Joubert again. He finally prescribed an anti-biotic after hesitating and forgot the probi flora& eye drops which we reminded him to add. again my son didn't want to sit still and he got clearly annoyed. Why does an issue have to get so bad for a doctor to try fix it
