Incompetence and harassment

My mum had been hospitalized for sometime. Lancet did the blood and other tests before her hospitalization as well as during her time of hospitalization. As usual, specialists emptied her day to day benefits. As a pensioner and sole member of the medical scheme she was responsible for any outstanding amounts should the medical aid not pay. Now here is the harassing part: I start receiving calls on her cell while she was bedridden for her to make payment. The phone would ring 3 times and as I am just about to answer it rings off. This continued for days. Then came the sms of handing my mum over to ITC. As they refused to speak to me, I could only inform the caller that when my mum did feel better she would call them. Eventually I did pay just to get the calls to stop... guess what? I received another call which I finally answered after 1 ring. They have not received payment and threatening to hand over my mum to ITC. After paying 1cent more than required we are still getting emails for overdue account. Lancet should go ahead and hand my mum over as she will never apply for finance since she is 72 years old. I am now insisting that my mum never have any further tests done at LANCET.
