In February this year I contacted the Cape Town branch of Oxygen to arrange the hiring of a portable oxygenator for 13 days. Per telephone I asked for a quote and was informed that regardless if I had the oxygenator for 1 day or 30 days I would have to pay for a full month. I agreed and when they delivered the machine I paid up front the cost of 1 months rental. 13 days later they collected and I asked if there were any outstanding costs. Again I was assured not as I had paid for a full month in advance.
At the end of March I received an account from their Bryanston office DOUBLE CHARGING me. The reason was that the 13 days had gone from 21 February to the 06 March 2013. As the month had changed this was counted as 60 days. I have no argument if this is their policy but they were given ample opportunity to tell me but chose not to.
I haI have a relation that visits 2-3 times a year with a chest problem and hence the need for the above equipment. They appear to be perfectly happy to lose a regular client in defence of their appalling communication.
